Expert Generator Installation to Power Your Home

Residential | Commercial | Industrial

Loss of power can be devastating, and quite often it comes unexpectedly. Backup generators installed by Paramount Electric will keep your family safe and comfortable until utility power is restored. Standby generators installed with automatic transfer switch will return your home to full power within seconds, 24/7, even when you’re not at home. More convenient than a portable unit, a fully automatic standby generator senses an outage and begins to produce power immediately. When power comes on again, the automatic transfer switch will disconnect the generator and return your setup to normal.

We offer generator installation, service, & repair services for diesel generators, gas generators, natural gas generators, propane generators, portable generators, and stand by emergency generators. Our experts will work with you to determine the correct size generator based on energy consumption, family size, and daily use. Whether your you’re looking to upgrade your generator with an automatic transfer switch, or your generator needs repair & routine maintenance, Paramount Electric can handle all of your generator installation, sales, service, and repair needs.

Three items to consider for a residential generator installation:

Generator Location

An important factor in controlling the costs of your home’s generator is its location. The more accessible the site, the less man power will be required to install. Careful thought should be put into the choice of your backup generator’s location. Finding the balance between cost and looks can be somewhat of a challenge. Your generator needs to be placed on top of concrete pad, and should be at least 3 feet from any landscaping or structures. Additionally, doors windows and landscaping should be at least 5 feet from the generator’s exhaust.

Generator Fuel

When choosing a backup generator, you have a choice in fuel sources: Standard gasoline, diesel, liquid propane gas (LPG) or natural gas (NG). The farther fuel lines must be run, the higher the installation cost can be. Each generator fuel source each have it’s pros and cons, and Paramount Electric can explain the differences to you and help choose the best solution for you.

Generator Electrical Connection

The further your generator is from the automatic transfer switch, your home or your building, the more electrical wiring will be required. Larger wiring will be required for larger home or generators that are located a significant distance from your home. Paramount Electric will make sure the correct wiring, equipment and transfer switch are used to ensure a safe and reliable installation
